Drug Targets

Following extensive and ongoing bioinformatics-based analysis of Pro-Cure’s gene analysis data, using increasingly sophisticated tools, more than 100 candidate genes have been identified.

The products of these genes offer drug target opportunities since they are upregulated in cancer stem cells relative to other cell types in the normal prostate, fulfilling the first criteria for a new target.

These have been categorised into several cellular protein classes (e.g. cell surface receptors, intracellular kinases), which provide insight into new drug targets and the experimental strategy by which new drug candidates will be tested and validated.
